Aether is a game concept and demo which places the player into the shoes of an Enchantress’s assistant; your job is to manage simple experiments and to copy texts. A mishap transfers a powerful ability to you, enabling you to physically walk into paintings and books, as if they were doors into the worlds that were contained within.
For this project I did the effects programming, the level design, writing, direction, material design, some of the voice acting, and the sound design in addition to programming the grass compute shader, the backing technology for the portals, and the game itself. All music and non-dialog audio were open-source. Textures were sourced from and the unity asset store, although many were modified by me.
